Shroud of Turin and the Resurrection of Jesus

In the Rez project our goal is to find, present, and discuss evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus.  (Resurreccion de Jesus for my Spanish speaking friends)  We look for evidence from the past, as well as the  present.  We have found evidence from history, the bible, science. and from personal testimony.

When it comes to physical evidence from 2,000 years ago we have the empty tomb which anyone can go visit in Jerusalem.  His body has never been found to disprove his resurrection.  That leaves the cloth pieces that were around his body when he was buried.  What if those were found and could be studied for unusual circumstances?

Let me introduce you to the Shroud of Turin.  By all accounts the Turin Shroud is the actual burial cloth of Jesus Christ.  Watch the video  from  our research on the Shroud of Turin.  Some skeptics say the Shroud of Turin is a fake.  But even last year there was new evidence for the Shroud based on more scientific study around the Crucifiction   There is tons of it out there as the Shroud is the most studied piece of cloth in the world. I’d love to hear what you think about the Shroud  AFTER you watch the video.

If you read the Gospel accounts, the only physical evidence that could exist after the resurrection occurred is the tomb being empty and the cloth Jesus was wrapped in when he was buried.  The body would of course could not ever be found anywhere because he body came back to life and he appeared to over 500 eyewitnesses over a 40 day period beginning 3 days after his burial.

You could never find a better corroborated story of eyewitnesses seeing, talking to, eating with, and touching the resurrected man Jesus.  This was not the same man buried days previously, he now walked through walls, appeared and disappeared at will, and finally floated up into the sky in front of his disciples as he ascended to heaven with a final promise of returning again one day.  Angels were frequently nearby to offer some explanations to astonished onlookers during this month long schedule of appearances Jesus made.  Surely this was a unique event in history.  And it is the foundational reality that all of Christianity is built upon.  Jesus lived, he died, and he was resurrected from the dead.  The Apostle Paul said basically without the resurrection we Christians are a bunch of fools.   With over 2 billion followers of Christ alive today, Christianity is the worlds most popular religion.
